We all get confused once in a while and a lot more these days with so many distractions. I realized something powerful on a personal note while reading Simon Sinek’s Business Book Starting with Why that the solution to external confusion can be made simple by:

Asking the Question “Why?”

Every individual has a unique, legitimate “why” that guards their actions and defines their desires. This internal mandate does not need to be universally accepted, provided it fulfills the individual without hampering the fulfillment of another person.

Demanding a particular action from someone—or judging them—based purely on external, myopic expectations is then fundamentally ridiculous.

Not everyone desires to be stupendously wealthy; not everyone wishes to be an Albert Einstein.

The choices we make are not a lack of ambition but a profound expression of the power of choice. Honor your own “why,” and respect the legitimacy of everyone else’s.

TGIF y’all.
