Sure you’ve had a most enjoyable read on the 15 CCC’s. We covered 11 currencies in the last two posts; Trust, Respect, Adaptability, Humility, Empathy, Reputation, Positivity, Courage, Flexibility, Kindness and Curiousity.
I promised to save the best for the last with the last four currencies which i call the 4G currencies. Your bet is as good as mine on the strenght and speed of the 4G network for good communication
. So also the 4G currencies, everywhere you go, it doesn’t fail.
Generosity
“A man’s gift opens doors for him and bring him before great men” – BiBLE
To illustrate this, i will use African men’s style of wooing women. African men understand the power of generosity and they have used it over the years to gain competition amongst women for the man with the most generous heart. The african women, in turn find pride in being the best catch of such men with support from older women who consider this as success. Thank goodness for women liberation, that has made women figure out that the power lies in the hands of the giver, not the taker. (Go figure)
and now we gladly welcome the power shift. Even the bible, acknowledges the power in generosity done with some sense. Generosity in career context is not limited to physical gifts, you can be generous with your knowledge, mentorship, time, etc,

Grace
Grace is unmerited favour that is extended by a supreme being . Every human has faith in a supreme being. For most religions – Grace is God’s unmerited favour. Grace is also called luck by some people. It can be triggered by several actions, some of which i have enumerated in earlier posts on this topic. In my opinion, because the word favour exists, so also is favouritism. It is only assumed as unfair when a party is at the other side of favour. This is the reason, it is advisable to find your tribe in your career, where you are on the side of favour. You can trust me on this. It takes a lot of energy to ignite new favour and establish the actions that will keep it alive. So, before you become nomadic like me, understand the risk and returns.

Gratitude
“The person that gives thanks for yesterday’s blessings, will get more – yoruba proverb
Gratitude is not only a good career currency but necessary for good mental wellbeing. You have to be grateful for your journey, your helpers, your highs and lows, your wins and losses, your failures and successes.Every event sums up to the final big picture. Just a thank you can go a long way in your daily interactions with clients and colleagues. The yoruba proverb above puts its succinctly, when you are grateful, you will get more of what you are grateful for. So, Many Thanks
.
GOD-FACTOR
God always adds the pieces together – MOakeju
The God-factor is the strongest of all the currencies and without it, none of the other currencies can be exchanged for anything. I recall a particular time in my career when i needed to show results, the numbers were not jiving and i was not getting the deals. I was so helpless and in my car that night before going home, i cried to God, called the name of the ‘tormentor” ( just messing) and told God not to put me to shame….. and like a movie/dream, ”i got a huge revenue generating deal from a client i had been working on the following day”. The transaction opened up more opportunities for me with the client. You can always trust God to show up and if He doesn’t show up, He definitely has a bigger plan… Just go grab it.
Finally, in your career journey
- Remember its a personal journey, your success is defined by you and no one else.
- Remember to stay on course without comparing your journey with another person’s journey.
- Remember to have a holistic view when considering your career journey. What you think you lost in career advancement, you might have gained in other areas of life and what you think another has gained in career advancement, he/she might have lost in other areas not evident to you. In all , enjoy your journey be it nomadic or steady!!!!!.
Hope you love the series…… Let me know your thoughts and please share other currencies that have helped your own journey too. Cheers…….
